Trending: Tulle Skirts

For those of you who missed out on the chance to become a prima ballerina, you now have your chance to live out that dream (or at least dress the part) by wearing a fabulous full tulle skirt.

The concept of a ballerina tutu-inspired skirt is nothing new; Carrie Bradshaw has been rocking the look for years, from the opening credits of Sex and the City to the stunning series finale ensemble she wore in Paris (swoon).

But recently the trend has made a big impact. Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific is a major fan of the tulle skirt, and stores like Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters have been hopping on the trend as well - I even saw vintage ballet costumes at the Urban Outfitters in Santa Monica. The tulle skirt is perfect for winter festivities and a welcome alternative to boring mini skirts.

There's two ways to go about styling the tulle skirt: either play up the pretty vibes with a ladylike top and accessories, or counteract the girliness with ankle boots and a less-structured top.

Either way, you're bound to turn heads in this attention-grabbing piece, weather you can dance the Sugarplum Fairy waltz or not.
