How to Shop All of My Outfits!

April 29, 2016

One of my goals this year has been to post more personal style updates. I take pride in the outfits I style for myself and want to show them off to you guys, and from the increased participation in comments and sharing, I'd say it's been a success! But unfortunately I can't take time every single day to photograph my outfit in a cool location and create a full outfit post.

Luckily, ShopStyle has introduced a way for me to share the details of my outfits in a quick and easy way, even if I don't have time to make a whole blog post about it!

You may have noticed a new feature on my sidebar that says "Shop My Looks" where there are tiny icons of some of my most recent outfits that have been posted either on the blog or on Instagram. If you click on an icon, you'll be able to see all the products I'm wearing and shop them, just like that! No emails, no links you have to copy and paste, just click an outfit and you'll be able to see everything I'm wearing!

I'm so excited to start using this feature because sometimes I'll Instagram or Snapchat an outfit but I won't share it on the blog if it's a lower-quality image, so this way you guys will have access to more of my looks that I wear every single day!

Your Fave French Style Icon Now Has Her Own Fashion Line

April 28, 2016

Jeanne Damas posing for the Rouje lookbook
Jeanne Damas is the ideal modern French fashion icon. She's got a retro-inspired cool wardrobe and knows how to rock bedhead hair and a pouty red lip. You've seen her laid-back style on street style blogs and have probably considered making deals with the devil to achieve her level of je ne sais quoi perfection. Well, not today, Satan, because she just made attaining her look so much easier!

How, you ask? Damas has just unveiled Rouje, her new fashion line. According to her, Rouje "reinterprets with nostalgia the iconic basics of the Parisian girl" which is #TheDream. You can purchase vintage-style day dresses, 70s-inspired suede jackets, and the perfect pair of relaxed jeans so that you too can look as effortlessly amazing as Jeanne Damas.

Birthday Weekend Recap

April 25, 2016

Rainbow sprinkles are the only way to celebrate a birthday!
Thursday was my birthday! So begins a full year of waking up to Taylor Swift's "Twenty-Two" (seriously, that's the most exciting part about being 22, I've already learned). Here's what I did this past weekend to celebrate!

Thursday

On your birthday, wear the things you love!
When your hair and makeup cooperates for your birthday :)
#TreatYoself with some Sugarfish
Me and my sisters ready to head out to Villain's Tavern for some drinks (Wearing Honey Punch dress)

Wearing:

Madewell dress (similar), jean jacket, and belt
Steve Madden boots (similar)

My birthday fell on a Thursday this year, which was kind of unfortunate because Thursday is the one day this semester that I actually have a full day of classes, but no Friday classes, so I could go out and have some fun after class!

I wore a Madewell dress and jacket with ankle boots, one of my go-to outfit combos that never fails and always leaves me feeling confident and stylish. You should dress in a way that makes you feel good every single day, but especially on your birthday. It's a day to celebrate you, after all!

For dinner I ordered Sugarfish (delivered straight to the house through Postmates) and it was just the most delicious thing ever. Special days should be filled with favorite things, and sushi from Sugarfish is like, the definition of perfect.

Finally, my friends and I ventured to Villain's Tavern in the trendy LA Arts District for some fun cocktails and live music. So thankful to have great sorority sisters and friends to make my college experience so memorable!

Friday

Sorority Formal look
Channeling Cara Delevingne with this edgy braid
Me and my amazing Little, Megan, with downtown Los Angeles behind us
Seriously, could this city get any more beautiful?

Wearing:

Lioness dress
Charles David sandals (similar)
Louis Vuitton clutch

Friday was the last sorority invite of the year (and ever for me) so naturally I had to go out in style. I found this amazing dress on Nasty Gal—I knew I wanted to get a red dress to make a big statement—and it fit just perfectly! I love it.

For my beauty look, I channeled my inner glam punk with a side braid hairstyle inspired by Cara Delevingne's 2014 Met Gala look.

nothing eventful on Saturday, I had to do homework!

Sunday

Brunching it up at Larchmont Bungalow
Loose tank + ripped skinnies = perfect cool brunch look
Interesting street art is all around you!
Gimme all the berries at the Larchmont Farmers Market

Wearing:

Silence + Noise tank top
Madewell jeans, sandals, necklace, and sunglasses

To end the weekend with just as much style, my friend Bree and I ventured to Larchmont Village for yummy brunch and window shopping. Larchmont is so cute and quaint, and their farmers market is a must-see. Seriously, seeing all the fresh produce and food got me so excited for when I finally have a real apartment with a kitchen to cook in (the sorority house doesn't have a full kitchen for us to use, sadness).

And of course, Game of Thrones and Veep are back, which means I am a happy Lindsey. Yay!

How to Wear Coachella Looks in the Real World

April 22, 2016

This may come as a bit of a surprise to you guys, but I've never actually been to Coachella. Mostly because of logistical issues and timing (why does it always happen to fall in the middle of final paper season!?) but it's whatever. There's plenty of think pieces on why the music festival is totally overrated anyways, which makes me feel slightly better about missing out on surprise performances by my middle school crush, Panic! at the Disco frontman Brendon Urie (let's be real, he's still amazing).

But just because I didn't go to the festival doesn't mean I can't take away important lessons from the people who did attend. Coachella is where the biggest trends of the summer start to emerge, with celebs and fashion bloggers flocking to Palm Springs with trunks full of cute new clothes and innovative styling techniques. While Coachella has maybe gotten away from its hippie roots, I do love that it has become a truly fashionable event, and yes, I promise, that some of the clothes worn there can be worn in real, non-music festival settings as well!

The Inspirations:

Whitney Port via @whitneyeveport | Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad
Flower crowns are over, but Whitney Port may have found the new way to incorporate florals into a hairdo. She stuck bougainvillea leaves into her hairstyles all weekend and looked totally cool doing it, so I thought I'd give it a try, seeing as there's an abundance of pink flowers in the sorority parking lot. You know how I love my bougainvilleas!

And for my outfit, it seems I got this cute Madewell denim dress at precisely the right time, because this style is about to blow up. Both Chiara Ferragni (above) and Emma Roberts wore a button-up denim dress by N Nicholas this weekend, practically guaranteeing that we are going to be seeing a lot more of this look. And it's totally perfect for summer, so why shouldn't be a big trend?

Like Chiara, I threw a bandana around my neck and hoisted a designer backpack over my shoulders, and I was ready to go. Am I prepping for a three-day music festival or just heading off to class looking like an adventurous tropical alien? The world will never know.

My Interpretation:

Wearing:

Madewell dress, shoes, sunglasses, and scarf

The Best Looks from Coachella

April 20, 2016

#SquadSelfie via Elle
Coachella may be getting a bit overrated (does anyone even go for the music anymore?) but I gotta admit, the celebrities and fashion bloggers still bring their style A-game to the desert. Boho braids, lightweight lace, and decadent denim were everywhere in Indio this weekend. Whether you're gearing up for Weekend Two or just need some outfit inspiration for summer, this is your go-to for major clothes envy.
