What I Wore | Peak LA Girl

March 31, 2017

Sometimes you just have to embrace the basic

Now that I work in West Hollywood, I've been spending more time on trendy Melrose at Insta-famous locales like Alfred Tea Room and the Paul Smith Pink Wall. Before having that 9-to-5 gig, I usually would go there in the middle of the day on a weekday to avoid the throngs of choker-wearing, phone-toting teens trying to snap a chic shot for their profiles. I love taking pictures in front of the pink wall as much as the next person, but I roll my eyes when I have to queue up just to pose in front of Carrera Café.

Nevertheless, I will gladly wait in line for some matcha boba and scour for parking in order to shop at Marc Jacobs and The Reformation. And if I'm going to the unofficial headquarters of the LA basic, I might as well dress like one!

The Uniform of the Melrose Girl Includes:

1) A Choker
2) A high-waisted denim skirt or pair of jeans
3) Big ol' shades
4) An off-the-shoulder top
5) A leather jacket if it's cold
6) A caffeinated beverage from Alfred (Tea or Coffee, either one will do)
7) And/or a designer handbag that costs more than your rent

Got it? Good! Now keep scrolling to see my whole outfit and shop the look for yourself!
