How to Rock Resort Looks Now

Thanks to the internet and social media, fashion collections are available to the common public almost instantaneously. I can see snapchat videos of the latest Gucci runway show essentially as it is happening, instantly taking in the trends and motifs I see. It's exciting to see how fashion shows are shared so quickly, and I'm thankful because even though I don't sit front row during Fashion Week I get front-row access via Instagram and Snapchat.

One drawback to the instantaneous nature of fashion? The lag time between a collection's debut and its actual availability in stores seems longer than ever. Designs that we all gushed over back in February won't make their ways into stores for another month or two, and the resort collections we are seeing now won't be available until November. By the time fall fashion does roll into stores in August, it's old news. I've written my thoughts on the collection, I've seen celebrities and street style stars wear the designs, and I've read every review or thinkpiece on the minutiae of the sartorial references. By August, I've already moved on to gearing up for Spring 2016.

Fortunately with Resort, which celebrates the ability to escape to the Caribbean in the dead of winter, the clothes and styles work just as well during the summer as they do on a tropical vacation. The actual items won't be available for a few more months, but it's never too early to start wearing the trends of resort.

Here's how to get the look of resort, now!
