Prepping for spring means pastels and florals!
Happy February, everyone! February may be the shortest month of the year, but it's jam-packed in the world of fashion and pop culture: New York Fashion Week, the Super Bowl, the Grammys, and the Academy Awards all occur this month, and that's not even including holidays such as President's Day Weekend and Valentine's Day.
A busy month means one has to be prepared, mentally, physically, and most important of all, sartorially. Spring is almost upon us, and most stores have their spring collections in at this point, which means it's time to start shopping for florals, pastels, metallics, and more.
I've been obsessed with the unicorn trend that seems to be dominating beauty, decorating, and dessert lately (anyone want to venture to Anaheim for a unicorn hot chocolate sometime soon???) so pastel ombrés and magical-looking opalescent pieces are on my radar.
It's also been quite a rainy month in Los Angeles (I know, rain in LA? Have you heard of anything more ridiculous?) so I'm tempted to stock up on my rainy day gear, which at the moment comprises of a single hooded jacket and a travel-size umbrella that I can never find. Madewell has a reasonably-priced trench coat that would make my rain attire look quite professional, so I might have to give in...
Elsewhere, I'm still a fan of printed silk scarves as a versatile accessory, always looking for a good, fashionable shoe with a low heel, and forever the biggest fan of Giambattista Valli (floral + off-the-shoulder = perfection!) so lucky me, I've found all three! Now, if only I could find them at a 99% discount. Ha!
