As you know, I'm a lover of bright colors and lots of them! They bring me joy and can brighten things up when the weather, or the world, is looking gray. For me, there's no better way to spread cheer than to showcase some fun colors and incorporate them into your outfit, your home, and beyond.
A Few Favorites:
I purchased this rainbow dyed sweater from Anthropologie during a special sale a few weeks ago and it is amazing! Not only are the colors so fun and bright, but the knit is really soft and cozy.
I've used Swell water bottles and am always impressed with how long my water stays ice cold! This pastel marble print is just too pretty.
I've been wanting a Pat McGrath eyeshadow palette for forever, and finally bought this one and couldn't be happier! It's Pat's first 18-color palette, and also comes at a cheaper price point than her typical palettes, but the colors are just as dazzling as her signature shadows.
Shop Colorful Gifts:
Be on the lookout for more gift guides throughout the next few weeks!
It's the best time of the year: gift guides!
While 2020 has been far from normal, I for one am excited that the holiday season is here (and a little shocked it's already here, as time has become very abstract over the past few months). I know that this year, shoppers will be more conscious about finding great deals and beautiful gifts that don't break the bank, which is why I'm excited to share my gift guide finds with you. Great gifts don't have to cost a fortune (although you know I love to share a fun designer find or two) and I hope that over the next few weeks, you'll be inspired with these gift giving tips. Don't forget to explore my post on finding the best holiday deals and planning ahead, too!
First up, it's time to talk sweaters! Is there any better holiday gift than a cozy knit sweater? I don't think so. I almost always have a sweater or two on my personal wish list, as brands come out with fun seasonal designs this time of year that win me over. And whether you are looking for a luxe cashmere knit that will last a lifetime, or a trendy style at an affordable price, there's something for every budget. Check out my picks!

Merry & Bright!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I know I did! As always, it was a lovely weekend filled with friends, family, and food, so obviously it was lovely. I'm off on a little road trip this week, so I may only update the blog once this week, but I'll keep you all updated on my Facebook page so you know when the latest Fashion Barbie content hits.

Music for dancing around the Christmas tree
One of the best parts about the holiday season is the Christmas music that takes over radio stations. I'm obsessed with Christmas music, and starting the day after Thanksgiving, you can find me blasting Mariah Carey classics and Nat King Cole.![]() |

Prepare for pretty presents!
I love Christmas presents, but not for the reason you think. Yes, receiving chic items off your wish list from loved ones is exciting, but I love shopping for presents even more than I love getting them, and most importantly, I love wrapping presents!
Find the perfect present at every price point
Ideally, I would buy everyone Christmas presents from Gucci (gotta have my family repping the hottest brand of the moment) and perhaps some latest-generation Apple products, but alas, I am living that broke 20-something life. It will be some time before I look at Sugarfish as a non-luxury sushi destination or scoff at the idea of purchasing something on sale. I wish I could find lavish presents for my family and friends, but yours truly is a girl on a budget, so I have to find gifts that feel luxurious but don't make my bank account scream in horror.![]() |
| Valentino Pre-Fall 2015 |
Stumped on what to wear on Valentine's Day? Well, Saint Valentino has got you covered with not one but a few heart motif looks from the pre-fall collection.
If you're planning on a romantic candlelight dinner with your significant other, this red and pink heart print 70s-style frock will woo your date all while being incredibly festive for the Hallmark holiday.
However, if you're loving the single life and the most of your plans are storming the theatre for some Fifty Shades of Grey with all your gal friends, Valentino has the perfect look for you, too! A cute heart sweatshirt will say "I love conversation hearts" better than a chalky candy, but a pair of fashion-forward, man-repelling denim wide-leg culottes will signal all prospective suitors that you are single and have no interest in mingling.
So whether you're a Valentine's Day romantic or a Galentine's Day celebrator, get inspired by Valentino. The one bummer, these looks aren't out until summer.
Happy Valentine's Day and happy hunting!
Thanksgiving is only two short days away, but there's plenty of time for some last-minute inspiration! Here are some of my favorite ideas from Pinterest, from delectable recipes to festive decor tips. And be sure to follow my Holiday board for more inspiration all season long!

Rarely do I meet a sparkle or sequin I don't like. I'm a fashion magpie, basically. So when I see a new and fun way to add a little glitter to my getup, I go for it.
Saint Laurent made my dreams come true with a fall runway show full of sparkling boots and Mary-Janes, and a plethora of other designers has followed suit and presented their own versions of the disco boot. The most popular style seems to be a flat or low-heel ankle boot, but other designers have opted for taller boots or even combat-style lace-up shoes.
If you are looking for a statement piece to wear to a New Year's Eve party or other festive soiree, a pair of sequined boots will do the trick nicely. And another cool thing: when wearing a pair of eye-catching shoes, the rest of your outfit can be simple and minimalistic, as Gilda Ambrosio styled her pink Saint Laurent pair.
Shop Glitter Boots:
Nothing quite beats those classic Christmas tunes, but if you're looking for some modern updates to play at your holiday fetes, look no further!
I've included fun "alternative" covers of classic holiday songs as well as some of my favorite originals ("All that I Want" by the Weepies is perhaps one of my all-time favorites, and it is certainly a hidden gem).
Of course, I can never resist failing at belting out Mariah's "All I Want for Christmas"!
What are your favorite holiday jams?
It's pretty safe to say that most holiday collections will feature plenty of sparkle and tulle, but no one has made these glitzy party staples so fun and fresh quite like Urban Outfitters has.
Entitled "Surprise Party", Urban has delivered their usual ironic and hipster touch to sparkly shoes and glittering clutches. Hey, they even have a bedazzled flask thrown in - for the classy lady, of course.
My favorite has to be the Urban Renewal overalls-tulle-skirt combination. I don't know on which occasion such a dress is acceptable (the skirt is classic party attire, but the denim top screams Despicable Me minion) but I have faith that someone is going to buys that dress and absolutely rock it this holiday season - or does the type of person who buys a dress such as that even celebrate such mainstream, consumeristic days?
Burning questions.
Not everything is so whacky, of course. The nail polishes especially, in an array of glitters and sultry winter colors, are pretty tempting. Of course, they are $8 for two bottles, so what's not to love!?
The collection is available here. What are your favorite pieces?
