Gimme all the off-the-shoulder things!
You guys, I officially have a problem: I'm addicted to off-the-shoulder tops and dresses. In the past three months I've purchased 3 different off-the-shoulder pieces, and even as we head into fall I have my eye on a few OTS sweaters that would make for cute fall going-out pieces. My most recent addition? A trendy-hued jersey top from a new Coronado boutique called Avenu. If you guys are ever in Crown Town, I highly recommend checking out the store. They have super cute things from their in-house label as well as blogger-favorite brands like Tularosa, The Fifth Label, and The Jetset Diaries.
Making the most out of my closet
Frustrated by the mountains of clutter that had amassed in my room over the past four years, I took it upon myself to clean out my entire room. I was ruthless towards the objects that I had dumped in my room between years of college, objects that I kept because I thought just maybe I would need them at some point. But no, as much as I might like the design of my Intro to Anthropology (not Anthropologie, which would make for an even cooler class, to be honest) I will never read it again, and I might as well donate it.

The trendiest color of the year
With a name like The Fashion Barbie, the color pink just comes with the territory. When I was little I would only wear pink, and it's not because some weird idea of traditional gendering, it's because I freakin' loved pink. And I still do! But sometimes I feel like I have to downplay my pink obsession because it's looked down upon for being too girly and feminine, and some people see girly as being superficial and vapid, which like, why can't I be a luxury-loving superficial girl and be good at calculus? Ugh, if only I wasn't so in love with fashion; then I would have become the Elle Woods of engineering...

Follow those strict NFL guidelines in style
It's that time of year again! And no, I'm not talking about fashion week, or going back to school, or the return of your favorite fall TV shows; I'm talking about football season! After four years of attending a huge football school and never missing a home game, I've grown to love the sport and cannot wait for it to start back up again.

Soaking up these last few weeks of summer
I cannot believe it is already the middle of August. Soon Labor Day will come around, signalling the official end of summer, and before you know it, Christmas will be here! Okay, okay, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but dang, summer went fast.

The Biggest Month in Fashion Means the Biggest Stars
Summer may be soon coming to an end, but for fashion lovers, the changing of the seasons is met with great anticipation, as September is the month. Not only does New York Fashion Week begin, but the September issues of fashion magazines are all about the newest fall styles and 2016's most famous faces. It's typical for a September issue to be nearing 1000 pages and weighing more than my dog, so obviously they are jam-packed with chic clothes and great style tips (and also, plenty of advertisements).

And You Should Love It, Too!
By now, you're no doubt aware of the new update from Instagram, Instagram Stories. If that sounds a little bit like Snapchat Stories to you, well, you're right. Instagram has created a very similar feature that allows users to share photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours. Shady, maybe, but it's just another day in Silicon Valley, tbh.

One of everything, please!
Ever wonder where celebs and style makers like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Emily Ratajkowski, Chiara Ferragni, and Danielle Bernstein get their covetable clothes? For the chicest girls around, The Reformation is the place to go.

And I'm not talking about your high school Jansport
Almost exactly one year ago, my mom and I stumbled upon a gem of a vintage shop in Sag Harbor during our Hamptons vacation. There were racks of Yves Saint Laurent gowns, Chanel tweed jackets, and Hermes Kellys; a total fashion lover's dream. But it was a duo of Chanel backpacks that caught my eye. One was made of smooth black leather with a tortoise shell logo. The other, a classic black caviar leather one with a raised quilt pattern. They were both so unique and stylish, and I knew I was never going to find anything quite like them ever again, so why not make an investment? (well ok my mom made the investment but you know what I mean) I was a little hesitant at first, though. A backpack? Wouldn't I rather have a classic 2.55 instead? But now, a year later, I can tell you that I'm so happy I found this purse.

Organization is the key to success!
When August comes around, I get really excited about going back to school. I love school supplies and getting organized, and weirdly enjoy going to office supply stores like Staples to stock up on highlighters and notebooks. It still hasn't totally hit me that I don't need to go back-to-school shopping this year, but at least I can get in the spirit of things with the annual purchase of a new agenda!
Perfecting the shopping outfit formula
Shopping in August is weird because it's 90° outside but you're buying stuff for the fall, like boots and sweaters, so it can be tricky to get into the autumn mood. So when I go shopping this time of year, I'm looking for transitional pieces, aka things that can be worn both now and later. I'm hoping to do a post that discusses that more in-depth soon, so stay posted, but for now, check out what I wore to go shopping this weekend!

Leather & Blush
Though summer is still going strong, it's time to look forward to fall when it comes to clothing purchases. Luckily, most stores have shed their summer products aside for autumn-friendly pieces, so this won't be too challenging! For August, I'm looking for stylish, transitional pieces that can work in different temperatures. This is southern California, after all, where our hottest months are yet to come, and it never really gets that cold. I wasn't intentionally going to a purely leather and blush color palette, but it worked out nicely, don't you think?
