Corseting is typically reserved for undergarments, but designers are breaking all the rules these days. Case in point: I just wore a corset-detailed dress for Easter brunch. Not exactly boudoir material.
What I love about this dress in particular is that the corseting serves both a stylistic and functional purpose: you can adjust how loose or how tight you want the sides of the dress, completely changing the shape of the garment in the process. Tie it tight for a dramatic fit-and-flare silhouette, or keep the sides loose for a relaxed fit.
When considering new pieces to buy this season, I implore you to consider the corset dress! I also love corseting details on jeans and shirts too.
