Equipment shirt | Vanessa Mooney necklace | C/MEO Collective dress | Chloé purse | ASOS shoes |
What's on my shopping list this July.
I know this isn't the most summery of summer wish lists, but since I'm in the midst of submitting job applications and hopefully getting a real adult job soon, I figure I should probably stock up on items that are 9-to-5 appropriate!
Equipment is the gold standard of button-down shirts, and I love this star print shirt of theirs because it goes with everything but has the fun print so it's not just a boring white shirt. Also, this is a top that can work on weekends too! Midi skirts, denim cut-offs, silk pants...this top goes with everything!
I also have been really into C/MEO Collective lately, and this dress in particular is so chic. If you haven't heard of this brand, you should definitely check it out! It's Australian-based and features a lot of cool, minimalist pieces that would make for not-boring work outfits. Think of it as a slightly less expensive, more trendy version of Theory.
Speaking of mature yet trendy pieces, the Chloé Drew purse is the epitome of all these things. It's a crossbody which is my purse style of choice, and the shape and hardware details are all so elegant! Sure, it may not fit a laptop, but it's just so lovely!
Not every work outfit has to be all neutral colors, though, and if someone tells you that you can't show off your personal style and stand out at your job, then they're a liar and stupid and you can tell them that Lindsey, the Fashion Barbie, thinks that. These red slingbacks from ASOS are a fun, colorful accent for any outfit, and their shape and heel height is perfect for work. Plus, since they're only $46, they're a completely guilt-free purchase. Go ahead, buy them in multiple colors, even!
And have you noticed that bolo necklaces and leather wrap necklaces are totally a thing right now? Who would have thought we would live in a world where bolos are chic outside of Philip Rivers post-game interviews? Anyways, the jewelry designer who's doing it best (and rather inexpensively) is Vanessa Mooney. I've been obsessing with her chokers and necklaces lately, and love this wrap necklace with gold arrow ends. It's great because you can let the ends hang loose OR tie it in a bow. Versatility, remember!
